常見的硬度量測比較：

一、壓痕硬度：受動/靜荷重產生永久壓痕。
*勃氏硬度（HB）=P/A, P為施加之荷重，A為球面壓痕表面積。
*維克氏硬度（HV）=P/A, P為施加之荷重，A為壓痕表面積。
*洛氏硬度（HRC）=將壓痕深度經機構原理轉換成指示盤之刻度。

二、反跳高度：試片受衝擊荷重之能量吸收程度。
*蕭氏硬度（HS）：量測小撞錘之反跳高度。
