Abstract.

The curved sheet metal panels with roll-formed section are usually applied to the vehicle and the building industries. This study aims to development the process and the tool designs of roll bending process for the roll formed sheet metal. A self-luck panel with matched ribs on both end of the section profile was adopted to demonstrate the methods of the roll flower design and the roll forming process simulation. A roll bending tool was designed with a 3D CAD system and made to do the roll bending experiments. The parameters of the roll-formed section geometry and the different materials were studied for the roll bending process design and the defects prediction. The minimum curvature of the roll-bending product is depending on the rib heights of the section profile and the yielding stress of the sheet materials. The tool and the roll bending process designs were evaluated using FEM simulations and verified with the experimental tests.The defects of wrinkles of edge can be avoided with suitable bending radius selection and proper roll bending process parameter setting. The comparison between the simulation predictions and the experimental results shows good agreement.

Abstract

In this paper, the cold orbital forging die is designed to make a hollow ring gear part. The forging process with suitable preform design is proposed to obtain the sound cold orbital forging gear part. Different preform designs have been studied to find out the deformation characteristic of the orbital forging process. The dimensions of height and outer diameter of a preform design are considered as the main design parameters. The 3D FEM simulation has been adopted to evaluate the process and die design, and predict the forging loads. The Cockroft-Latham damage criterion has been adopted to evaluate the quality of the product. The upsetting tests of workpiece SCM415 have been carried out to obtain the flow stress model. A PXW-200 orbital forging press has been adopted to do the experimental tests. The top die is rotating in the orbital motion way, and the bottom die only has translational motion. The circular locus is chosen to guarantee the gear shape can be forged precisely. The conventional closed die forging results have been compared with the orbital forging. The forging load of conventional forging is about three times of the orbital forging. The orbital locus shows a better ability of die filling at the finishing than the conventional forging. The simulation results are in good agreement with the experimental tests. The von Mises stress, effective strain, and damage value of the workpiece have been studied to develop a better forging die and process design.

Abstract

In this paper, the main focus is to demonstrate a systematic method of designing the roll flower and corresponding dies for a double-gutter frame applied to the drawer slider. The blank development method was proposed to calculate the width of blank for bending with small radii. The cold roll forming process design was based on the maximum longitudinal strain minimization and the interference of rolls with the double-gutter geometry of product profile. Extra pre-bending was designed to avoid the occurrence of blank collision during forming process. The FEM method was adopted to evaluate the process and die designs. Due to the geometry complexity of the product, strain distribution is uneven which results in more spring back and stress concentration. A geometry setting design was proposed to create local strain redistribution and smooth strain distribution of entire section profile after final forming step. Using geometry setting die design, the spring back at the end point and the gutter areas of final product section are 0.07 mm and 0.1 mm, respectively. Without the geometry setting die design, the spring back at the end point and the gutter areas of final product section are 0.11 mm and 0.15 mm, respectively. The simulation results demonstrate the proposed methods are able to improve the accuracy of cold roll forming products.

Abstract

Cold forging die design and process simulation were studied in this paper for a disk with center boss and outer ring gear. The complexity of part geometry results in defects of under-filling and folding. The material flow interference in the radial and the axial directions at the corner areas is the main reason of the occurrence of defects. A multi-stage cold forging process was proposed to control the material flow and volume distribution simultaneously. FEM simulations were carried out to evaluate the designs of process and die. The proposed preform and web geometry designs were able to decrease the forging load and control the material flow. The simulation results showed the proposed methods were able to make this forged part without defects.

Abstract

In this study, the preform and die designs of hot forging process were proposed for a long-flat slide block. This block is assembled to the linear slide for carrying the moving table. Three different billet geometry designs were proposed to obtain good die filling. The volume of the flash is limited to 30% with a flash thickness design in 3 mm. The forging die was designed with four ejectors to push up the forged part smoothly. The proposed billet geometries and die design were evaluated using CAE simulation. The simulation results indicated that the suitable perform design is able to achieve better material flow. The flash flow control is able to reduce the forming load and improve the die filling. The forging experiments were carried out to verify the proposed method, the experiment results showed good agreement with the CAE simulations.

20131230-文獻回顧寫摘要的方法

寫文獻回顧(reference review),只要短短幾句話,寫下什麼人(who)、什麼時候 (when)、利用什麼方法 (how)、解決了什麼問題 (what) or 得到了什麼結果 (result),也就是訓練你寫摘要 (abstract) 的能力,如此而已。

今天,看了幾段計畫書內碩士生所寫的文獻回顧,最大的問題就是:看完了沒做出結論,不然就是沒有重點!怎麼辦?!再把文獻找出來看過一次。

其實大部分的文獻都沒有很重要,不需要每一篇都詳細地讀
看摘要就夠了,因為,基本上~期刊對於摘要(abstract)的要求就是目的方法結果
看完摘要,再把圖翻一翻看一看,最後再多看一眼結論(conclusion)的部分,
但是基本上 ... ... 結論的東西會與最前面的摘要大同小異,
所以,當摘要寫得不清楚很隱晦的時候,再來看結論就好。
